A Water Tracker for iPhone With No Account and No Sign Up
Sip opens straight into the app. There is nothing to register, nothing to confirm by email, and nothing to remember the next time you pick up the phone.
What no account really means here
- No email address and no password. Nothing to lose, and nothing to reset a year later.
- Your name is optional. Setup asks for a first name so the greeting reads properly, and the question can be skipped.
- No weight, no age, no health figures. The daily goal is three preset amounts and a number you can adjust, not a calculation from your body.
- It works offline. The whole app runs with no connection. Buying Premium is the only thing that needs one.
Where your entries live
Your goal, your wake and bedtime, your glasses and every amount you record are written to one file inside the app on your iPhone. There is no server behind Sip to send them to. Deleting the app removes the file, and there is no copy elsewhere to ask about.
If you have iCloud Backup switched on, that file rides along in your ordinary iPhone backup, exactly like any other app's data. That backup is between you and Apple.
Reminders are worked out on the device and handed to iOS. No reminder is sent from a server.
The advertising, stated plainly
No account does not mean no advertising, and it would be dishonest to imply otherwise. Sip is free because the free version carries adverts through Google AdMob.
- A banner appears on the week screen and in settings. There is never one on the home screen.
- A full screen advert appears at most once per session, and only after you reach your daily goal, so it never interrupts the act of recording a glass.
- On first run iOS asks whether Sip may track you, and where the law requires it a consent form appears as well. Saying no changes nothing about how the app behaves. You can reopen that form later from the settings screen.
- Sip Premium removes the advertising completely, along with the consent prompts that come with it.
The full detail is on the privacy page.
What you give up by not having an account
This is a real trade, not a free win.
- Your history does not follow you to a new iPhone unless it comes across in a backup.
- There is no web view, no second device and no shared household view.
- Nobody can look at your progress for you, which is the point for some people and a drawback for others.
Common questions
Is there a water tracker that works without an account?
Sip does. There is no account, no email address and no password. It opens straight into the app on first run and works with no internet connection at all.
Where does Sip keep what I record?
In one file inside the app on your iPhone. It is not uploaded anywhere. If you have iCloud Backup switched on, that file is part of your ordinary iPhone backup, the same as any other app's data.
Does the free version show adverts?
Yes. Sip is free because the free version carries Google AdMob adverts: a banner on the week and settings screens, and at most one full screen advert per session after the daily goal is reached. Premium removes them.
What happens if I refuse tracking?
Nothing changes about how Sip works. The adverts are simply chosen less specifically. You can also reopen the advertising consent form later from the settings screen.
